Pattern Instructions
Pumpkin
Round 1: sc*6 (6)
Round 2: sc*12 (12)
Round 3: (sc, inc)*6 (18)
Round 4: (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
Round 5: (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
Round 6: (4 sc, inc)*6 (36)
Round 7 – 12: sc*36 (36)
Round 13: (4 sc, dec)*6 (30)
Round 14: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)
Round 15: (2 sc, dec)*6 (18)
Start stuffing and keep on stuffing while crocheting, , but don’t pack it too tightly. The pumpkin should hold its shape but still feel a bit squishy, not firm like a ball. Light stuffing helps keep the ridges/indentations you’ll later make with yarn (when shaping the pumpkin) nice and defined. If it’s overstuffed, the yarn wrapping won’t sink in and it’ll look round instead of pumpkin-y.
Round 16: (sc, dec)*6 (12)
Round 17: dec*6 (6)
Do not cut the yarn. Leave a long tail to create the ridges.
Insert needle back into the bottom of the pumpkin and pull it up through the top, pulling it tight to create a ridge. Create 6 ridges the same way.
Stem
Row 1: 4 ch (4)
Row 2: Start in the second chain from the hook: 1 sl st in each ch (3)
