  • Schachenmayr Catania (100% Cotton, 125m (137yds)/50g (1.76oz), Sport Weight) Yarn in the following colors
    • Yellow
    • Orange
    • White
    • Small amount of Black for the eyes and mouth
  • Crochet hook: 2.00 mm
  • Filling
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations

  • st(s) – stitch(es)
  • ch – chain
  • sc – single crochet
  • dec –  decrease (2 sc worked off together)
  • (nr) – indicates the total number of stitches in the current row/round

Size of the finished figure

The finished candy corn is about 5.5 cm (2.1 inches) tall, if you use similar weight yarn. In case you use a thicker yarn, your candy corn will be bigger, if you use thiner yarn, your candy corn will be smaller.

Pattern Instructions

Make 2 panels.

Start with Yellow yarn.

Row 0:  ch 15 (15)
Row 1: sc*14 (14)
Row 2: dec, 10 sc, dec (12), chain 1, turn
Row 3:  sc*12 (12), chain 1, turn
Row 4:  sc*12 (12), chain 1, turn
Row 5:  dec, 8 sc, dec (10), chain 1, turn
Row 6:  sc*10 (10), chain 1, turn

Change the color to Orange.

Row 7:  sc*10 (10), chain 1, turn
Row 8: dec, 6 sc, dec (8), chain 1, turn
Row 9:  sc*8 (8), chain 1, turn
Row 10:  sc*8 (8), chain 1, turn
Row 11:  dec, 4 sc, dec (6), chain 1, turn
Row 12:  sc*6 (6), chain 1, turn

Change the color to White.

Row 13:  sc*6 (6), chain 1, turn
Row 14:  dec, 2 sc, dec (4), chain 1, turn
Row 15:  sc*4 (4), chain 1, turn
Row 16:  sc*4 (4), chain 1, turn
Row 17:  dec, dec (2), chain 1, turn
Row 18:  dec (1)

Crochet the 2 panels together with single crochets. Put 1 single crochet to each stitch, except for the corners. Put 2 single crochet in each corner. Change the color when the candy corn changes color. Stuff as you go.

Eyes

I sewed the eyes between row 6 and 8 with 3 stitches in between.

Mouth

I sewed the mouth between row 2 and 3.
