Important Notes

  • Stuff pieces as you go. Give each part a nice shape. Avoid overstuffing as it might overstretch the crocheted piece.
  • You may find it useful to use a stitchmarker for counting your rounds.

Size Of The Finished Flower

The finished flower is about 7.5 cm (3 inches) tall, if you use similar weight yarn. In case you use a thicker yarn, your flower will be bigger, if you use thiner yarn, your flower will be smaller.

Pattern Instructions

You need a small amount of yarn from each color, and you use in any color you like, so this is a perfect way to use up your yarn scraps.

Heart

Round 1: 6 sc in mr (6)
Round 2: inc*6 (12)
Round 3: (sc, inc)*6 (18)
Round 4 – Round 5: sc*18 (18)

Leave a short tail for sewing when cutting the yarn.

Create a second piece identical to the first by repeating rounds 1-5, but do not cut the yarn this time, as it will be used to continue working.

Round 6: Join the two pieces together. Crochet 9 sc on the second piece, then work 18 sc around the first piece, and finish with another 9 sc on the second piece (36 stitches total). Use the tail to sew the gap between the two pieces closed.

Round 7: sc*36 (36)
Round 8: (4 sc, dec)*6 (30)
Round 9: sc*30 (30)
Round 10: (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)
Round 11: sc*24 (24)
Round 12: (2 sc, dec)*6 (18)
Round 13:  sc*18 (18)

Start stuffing the heart. Continue to add filling in each remaining round.

Round 14: (sc, dec)*6 (12)
Round 15: sc*12 (12)
Round 16: dec*6 (6)

Finish off, cut the yarn, but do not close the end of the heart as we need to put the stem of the flower (made out of stick and yarn) inside the heart.

Stem

Glue yarn on a piece of stick to make the stem of your flower. Insert the stem into the heart.

Pot

Start with the color of the pot.

Round 1:  6 sc in mr (6)
Round 2:  inc*6 (12)
Round 3:  (sc, inc)*6 (18)
Round 4:  (2 sc, inc)*6 (24)
Round 5:  Crochet in the back loop only! sc*24 (24)
Round 6:  (3 sc, inc)*6 (30)
Round 7 – Round 10: sc*30 (30)
Round 11:  (3 sc, dec)*6 (24)

Do not cut the yarn.

Change color to the color of the soil.

Round 12/1: Crochet in the back loop only! (2sc, dec)*6 (18)

Start stuffing the pot. Be careful not to overstuff and make sure that heart on the stem is stable in the pot. Continue stuffing the pot in the remaining rounds.

Round 13:  (sc, dec)*6   (12)
Round 14:  dec*6 (6)

Finish off, cut the yarn, but do not close the end of the pot as we need to put the heart with the stem inside the pot.

Finish the last row of the pot with color of the pot. Crochet in the front loop only!

Round 12/2:  sc*24 (24)

Finish off, cut the yarn.

Leaves

Make 2 leaves

Row 1:  9 ch (9)
Row 2:  Start in the second chain from the hook: sl st, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc, sl st (8), turn
Row 3:  sl st, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc, sl st (8)

Finish off. Leave a long tail for sewing.

Sewing Pieces Together

This amigurumi requires minimal sewing.

You only need to sew the leaves in the middle of the pot.

Place the heart with the stem in the middle of the pot.
