  • Puli (100% Cotton, 125m (137yds)/50g (1.76oz), Sport Weight) Yarn
  • Crochet hook: 2.00 mm
  • Filling
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle

Abbreviations

  • St(s) – stitch(es)
  • Mr – magic ring
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Inc – increase (2 st in next st)
  • Dec – decrease (2 st worked off together)
  • (nr) – indicates the total number of stitches in the current row/round

Size of the finished ornament

The Easter egg is 5 cm (2 inches) tall, if you use similar weight yarn. In case you use a thicker yarn, your egg will be bigger, if you use thiner yarn, your egg will be smaller.

Pattern Instructions

For this Easter egg you can use any color combination and yarn you like to match any other Easter decoration you have. As you need small amounts from each yarn, this is also a perfect way to use up your yarn scarps from your stash.

I started with red yarn.

Round 1:  12 dc in mr (12)

Change color to white

Round 2:  sc*12 (12)

Change color to red

Round 3:  Crochet double crochets in the back loop only (inc)*12 (24)

Change color to white

Round 4:  sc*24 (24)

Change color to red

Round 5:  Crochet in the back loop only (dc, inc)*12 (36)

Change color to white

Round 6:  sc*36 (36)

Change color to red

Round 7:  Crochet in the back loop only (dc)*36 (36)

Change color to white

Round 8:  sc*36 (36)

Change color to red

Round 9:  Crochet in the back loop only (dc)*36 (36)

Start stuffing the egg and keep on stuffing while crocheting.
